According to the Multiple Listing Service, the median price for homes closed in August for Chisago County was up 20% over August 2016. The median price for August was $249,900. There were 113 homes that closed in August 2017 and 114 homes closed in August 2016. Prices were up from July as well which had a median price of $215,700. In August 2015, there were only 98 sales with a median price of $199,500.

  The highest priced home to sell, in August, was $510,000 on Chisago Lake and the lowest price home was a condo on North Center Lake for $77,600. The highest priced home with acreage was 119 acres for $375,000. 

  There were 26 waterfront homes sold in August with a median price of $301,900 and 87 non-waterfront homes with a median price of $224,000. There were 15 new construction homes with a median price of $329,900, 8 townhomes with a median price of $215,000, and 1 condominium at $77,600. 

  The city with the highest number of sales was North Branch at 26 with a median price of $219,000. Followed by Chisago City and Lindstrom which each had 16 sales in August. The median price in Chisago City was $254,200 and Lindstrom was $210,000. 

  Chisago Lake Township had the highest median price in August, at $382,500 with 10 sales. There were 3 more new construction homes closed in August this year compared to 2016.

  It’s a good time to sell real estate in Chisago County. Prices are up, inventory is down, and marketing time is down!
